Vehicle classes
EPA sorts vehicles into size classes. Each class below has its own ranking of the models rated for the current model year.
11 groups have enough models rated for model year 2026 to be ranked. Medians run from 18 MPG for Two-seaters to 34 for Compact cars. The median is the middle model of each group by best combined rating, so a few extreme models do not move it.
